Esther has appeared as a singer and actress in operas, musicals and music theater performances.

Musicals in which she appeared include Putting It Together by Stephen Sondheim as Amy (Musical Award for best actress in a small musical), at the Nederlandse Reisopera as Ruth Sherwood in Wonderful Town by Leonard Bernstein, as the witch in Into The Woods by Stephen Sondheim.

Operas include title roles in Bizet's Carmen and Handel's Orlando, as Lucretia in Britten's The Rape of Lucretia and as Meg Page in Verdi's Falstaff.

 

She has also appeared in productions of Die Dreigroschenoper by Weill as Lucy, Mahagony by Weill as Bessie, The Sound of Music by Rodgers and Hammerstein as Elsa, Bernstein's West Side Story as Anita and Sondheim's Into The Woods as Cinderella's mother and Little Red Riding Hood's grandmother.

 

In addition, Esther contributed as a soloist to many concerts, including Alexander Nevsky by Prokofiev in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw.
